FILM COLLECTION

the definitive collection of my film work from 2024. perhaps my most personal series of photos, this collection serves as the precursor to my jump into abstract painting as it taught me how to truly “create” something within the photo medium. i started this journey developing my own film in the empty mudroom of my house and it was like i fell back in love with my craft. i had a greater sense of control and responsibility that made me feel more whole as an artist— like i mattered more. it became tactile, mathematical yet artistic, and incredibly progressive for my work. i was for the first time in my career pushing the technical boundaries of photography. shooting over 130 rolls that year, film taught me how to see and operate in a way digital never could have. it was the process that taught me everything i needed to know going forward.

i always knew if i ever picked up a film camera, everything that would come after would change entirely.

it is my magnum opus in photography. this is what it means to document the world, while creating it at the same time.
